Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Qusogma, about 3 km west of Guchang Village, MarmĂȘ District, southwest Gerze County, Tibet. It was named by the Regional Geological Survey Party of Tibetan Bureau of Geology in 1987.


Lithology and Thickness

Claystone, Siltstone and Limestone. Rhythmic layers, irregular in thicknesses, of gray-green and black-gray shale, siltstone and gray organic-rich limestone with gray-yellow thin-bedded fine-grained quartz sandstone. Ripple marks, oblique bedding and organic traces are common in the sandy mudstone. Stable in lithology and lithofacies. Thickness >460.11 m.
